The First (Not quite…)

Hey friend ~

I feel this weird need to say, “Hey, neighbor” as if I’m half as cool or comforting as Mr Rogers. Or even a bit as wholesome as him (which, you will come to find, is not even a tiny percentage the case). Spoiler alert: I’ll more often than not catch myself, but just know that when there’s a clearly replaced cuss word, I loudly proclaimed it in my head before sighing and deciding to be halfway professional.

I’ve done newsletters and blogs before. This is nothing new. If you’re coming back for more, thanks so much for always supporting me. If you’re new to my writing ways, welcome and thank you for supporting me now! I started in on the newsletters with my morning and night routines posts… forgetting that this was already written and ready to rock… So, instead, this is now my announcement post!

Having done this rodeo before, it feels different this time. Before, I didn’t really have a purpose. It was just to write, to share, to connect. Now, I hope to still do all the same and with a purpose of building community, of sharing wisdom and knowledge, of learning with and for you, and creating a long-lasting endeavor to create joy and passion in my life, while also more so supporting myself and daughter with this new path of mine.

What’s coming down the pipeline for me? Working with folks on their fitness, with a strong emphasis on how mindset plays a role in our health. I’m a firm believer that health is not a size and, therefore, that all bodies are deserving of respect and we all deserve to feel the best we possibly can - whatever that may mean for each of us. I’m officially a (virtual) personal trainer (certified through NASM if that is a question) who provides mindset and fitness services, with an ability to provide nutrition support. Interested in working with me? There’s a large button in the top right where you can drop your info or slide into my DM’s on Insta (just_morgan_p) and we’ll get to chatting to see if we’re a good fit.

There is no such thing as one size fits all - even though clothing companies think they’re being cute when they sell something as such. Cheaper to do that than to have sizes - not so cute afterall. So, just like there not being a one size fits all for clothes - there shouldn’t be in our programming or approach to goals either! We can try new things based on other people and take inspiration from them while honoring what works best for us.

Self-awareness is freaking hard. It’s also freaking awesome. Honoring what we need because we KNOW what we need? Super cool. Or whatever it is the kids are saying these days. You’d think I’d know, being a high school educator. I really don’t. I can’t keep up. I’m not hip like that.

Is this… is this… what it means to be an adult???

Journal Entry Ideas:

Choose a purpose you currently have in your life. Why is it important to you? What more do you want to do with this purpose? What hasn’t worked in this pursuit of purpose? What can you change?

(If you want to do this for multiple purposes or interests - even better!)

Also, take stock. Are you missing something in your life? A path, a new purpose, a journey of some sort? Explore this over time. Start taking notes or even do a brain dump or mind map. Let it percolate and keep coming back to it.

Just to note:

At the end of every newsletter or post will be this reminder. I am just a person. With a whole lot of life experiences. With a whole lot of degrees in a a couple of different fields that are NOT therapy based - one is sociology based, so at least I have the observation of people, interaction, and the like going for me as I write this.

Why do I mention this? I am a FIRM believer in mental health and going to therapy to get stronger emotionally (and mentally and possibly even spiritually if that’s your thing). So, please, when you read my, or any other newsletter, take everything with a grain of salt and only apply what works for you and your life. AND think about seeking out support in the form of therapy - everybody could learn or expand on their life and coping mechanisms.

Until then or while you’re going and getting your therapy on - hope you got a small nugget from this space to inspire you, make you think, or at the very least, get a wee chuckle with a head shake at my antics.

Catch ya on the flip - living the dream.

~Morgan
